What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Both plans include all features—unlimited invoices, quotes, clients, email delivery, online payments, and more. The only difference is how you pay: Free users pay a small 1.5% platform fee when they receive payments through Stripe, while Pro users pay a flat monthly subscription and keep 100% of their payments (minus standard Stripe processing fees).
When should I upgrade to Pro?
Pro becomes worth it when you receive more than ~$800/month in online payments. At that point, the 1.5% platform fee exceeds the $12/month Pro subscription. If you receive less than that, Free is the better deal. You can always start free and upgrade when your business grows.
What about Stripe's processing fees?
Stripe charges their standard processing fee (typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) on all payments, regardless of your Invoice Penguin plan. Our platform fee is separate and only applies to Free plan users. Pro users only pay Stripe's fees.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes! You can upgrade to Pro at any time—the platform fee is removed immediately for all future payments. If you're already on Pro, you can switch between monthly and yearly billing, or downgrade to Free.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on Pro subscriptions. If you're not satisfied, contact us for a full refund.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
You can cancel anytime. Your Pro benefits (0% platform fee) remain active until the end of your billing period, then you'll automatically move to the Free plan with the 1.5% platform fee on future payments.
